About Steelhouse Omaha

Steelhouse Omaha opened its doors as a brand new, state-of-the-art live music venue in May 2023. Omaha Performing Arts (O-pa), the not-for-profit organization that owns Steelhouse Omaha, brings music, dance, broadway, comedy, and more to Omaha, Nebraska. They operate three world-class venues: Holland Center, Orpheum Theater, and Steelhouse Omaha.

O-pa invested in world-class designs for these venues, enhancing both artist support and the overall visitor experience. These designs integrate cutting-edge technology, establishing a new industry standard.

Traditional Digital Displays Bombed at the Box Office

Before opening, Steelhouse Omaha identified that they needed signs for

1. Dressing rooms: Artists needed to know which room to use for performances.
2. Performance information: Details on current performances hosted by the venue.

As you can imagine, these displays need to be updated regularly as new artists and events are in the building daily. Also, they couldn’t be attached directly to power.

Early on, O-pa identified that they required a low-power solution that didn’t need to be charged regularly. Therefore, traditional LCD and LED solutions didn’t make the final cut.

Matching every one of O-pa’s requirements, Visionect displays are now mounted on the wall outside of sixteen dressing rooms in addition to other spaces around Steelhouse Omaha. Thanks to the devices’ low-power design, the venue’s management simply monitors each display’s battery virtually via their content management system (CMS) and recharges each device as needed.

Optimizing Branding With Digital Signage

Each dressing room display at Steelhouse Omaha shows the room’s number, names of performers the room is reserved for, and staff members assigned to each room, plus additional messages as required. Before each new artist enters the venue, Steelhouse Omaha updates the information on each display via a CMS that wirelessly pushes the update to the e-paper display.

In addition to this practical information, Steelhouse Omaha has also configured the signs to show the venue’s logo, adding a touch of branding flair that brings a professional shine to the backstage experience.
