How we did it

Our engineers transferred their know-how of driving electronic paper display units into a solution catered to increasing demand on the digital signage market. Based on almost a decade of research and three years of experience with running epaper displays 24/7 in demanding conditions, such as hot Australian roads and cold Alpine winters, Visionect’s engineers have deployed hardware and software building blocks for electronic paper based digital signage.

Platform for driving self-sustainable electronic paper signs

Visionect’s platform for digital signage enables deployment of self-sustainable electronic paper display units that are completely wireless. Imagine the ease of installation without drilling and patching the walls!

The EPD units are connecting to the network over 3G or Wi-Fi and powered with batteries that can be charged via a solar panel, resulting in power consumption cost that will be close to zero.

ELECTRONIC PAPER DRIVING BOARD

Developed from the ground up for digital signage, the electronic paper board features Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity and localization features (GPS). Most important, however, is its groundbreaking ability to connect various sizes of electronic paper displays and even multiple displays to a single electronic board.

SERVER SOFTWARE WITH CETRALIZED MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT

We have completely overhauled our software: now written in Go, the software features a more user-friendly interface, making monitoring and managing your displays easier, be it on desktop or mobile display. Adapted to use in digital signage, the software is suitable for large scale deployments. It enables the handling of multiple display units connected to a single board, both individually or tiled together as XXXL jumbo screens.

By introducing these new building blocks onto the market, a new generation of digital signage is born. It is simple to install and mount, is self-sustainable and performs outstandingly in numerous in- and outdoor environments, especially where direct sunlight, rain or limited power supply have traditionally obstructed a digital signage project. And what also matters is the fact that Visionect’s platform is less demanding expense-wise, since it can be mounted without cables, and consumes much less electricity than traditional LCD-based signage.
